Review- Wampus Springs - Mark of the Wolf is an amazing book, I love the way Wade Faubert has tells the story of Lori. From beginning to end your on edge of what's coming next, I defiantly was. The story of Lori has a heartbreaking start, the prologue is from where Lori is twelve and living with her mother and father in Wampus Springs and shows the reason why her mother and her left Wampus Springs. The story is emotional with the loss of her best friend Cindy, her first boyfriend Max and her friend Randy who were killed by a werewolf and Lori was scared for life by it. After the prologue it's four years later and you see Lori battling with the lost and nightmares of that horrible day four years prior. Not only does Lori have the nightmares to worry about but the school bullies are on her case all the time, making up rumours about the horrible day four years ago which doesn't make things easy for Lori. Thankfully she has her new best friend Jessica on her side as well as new flame Josh. What I love about this book is that you never know if Lori turns into a werewolf or not and I think that's amazing! I also like the last two chapters and how it keeps you on the edge of your seat and I love it. My favourite character has to be Mr Schafer, the way he fights with Miss Jones and how open he is about it. I laughed at the scene in Camp Takysie with him, Lori, Jessica and Josh when they find out that she has brought her dog Tiger, it has to be my favourite part of the book. The only thing I would have loved about this book is that if it was in first person narrative. Pick up a copy of Wampus Springs - Mark of the Wolf by Wade Faubert, it's full of laughter and finger biting moment. You won't be sorry!

I e-mail Wade Faubert with some questions and here is a little Q&A.

1. What was it about the book that made you want to write it?

This is the first book I've written, so it’s gone through many changes to get to where it is today. I wanted to write a book that could actually happen in the modern world via genetic modification, but after having my original book read by an editor friend, he pointed out many problems with the storyline and characters. Needless to say, I went back to the drawing board and fixed the flaws (I hope) and cut much of my chapters that didn't fit. I'm pleased with the final outcome of the story even though it’s more of a Good vs. Evil story.

2. What is your favourite part of the book?

When Lori finally realizes that running from her past will never solve her problems and that she must risk her life to save the ones she loves. Maybe it’s just me, but I can relate to her troubled past and feel her need to stand tall and fight back.

3. Is there any aspect you would change about it?

After writing my kidnapping book which is full of action, I would love to write the story in first person point of view and fill it full of nonstop action.

4. Who is your favourite character?

Even though I love Jessica’s smart mouth and carefree attitude, I have to go with Lori. I can connect with Lori’s troubled past, her lack of confidence and overall insecurity. I love an underdog who can only grow and get stronger.

5. Is there going to be a sequel to the story?

I’ve had many readers beg me to write a sequel to this book. Truth is I was planning to write two more books in the series and have written the first chapter in Lori’s point of view. I love how connected you feel when looking through her eyes.
Although with everything, it comes down to time. My second novel, Taken – Before her very Eyes has been a surprise hit and I first must write a second book in the genre for all my fans, followed by a sequel to Taken, plus the many other books that are fighting to get out of my mind.
